Argentina to Withdraw from World Health Organization, Government Announces

Argentina’s government announced on Wednesday that the country will be leaving the World Health Organization (WHO), according to local media reports. Government spokesperson Manuel Adorni revealed that President Javier Milei has instructed Foreign Minister Gerardo Werthein to terminate Argentina’s membership in the WHO. “We Argentinians will not allow an international organization to intervene in our sovereignty, let alone our health” Adorni stated. This move comes after US President Donald Trump announced in January, on his first day in the White House, that the United States would no longer be a part of the WHO.
