Solar Revolution: New Record for Efficiency, Prices Plummet!

The support requirements for rooftop solar installations have decreased once again. The bid values determined in the current tender round through the auction procedure range from 3.88 cents per kilowatt-hour to 4.95 cents per kilowatt-hour, as announced by the Federal Network Agency on Monday. The average weighted bid value in this round is 4.76 cents per kilowatt-hour, a decrease of around 6 percent compared to the previous round’s value of 5.05 cents per kilowatt-hour.

“The bid volume for the rooftop solar tender has exceeded the auction volume again, very significantly” said Klaus Müller, President of the Federal Network Agency. “The persistent high competition is leading to a further reduction in the bid values. The support requirements for new rooftop solar installations are thus decreasing even further.”

The largest bid volume, as in the previous tender rounds, was allocated to bids for locations in Bavaria (916 MW, 120 bidders), followed by locations in Schleswig-Holstein (213 MW, 21 bidders), Lower Saxony (192 MW, 18 bidders), Baden-Württemberg (176 MW, 20 bidders) and Brandenburg (170 MW, 13 bidders).
