Skyway Sabotage: Poland Blocks Slovak MPs' Moscow Flight

A Slovakian parliamentary delegation, led by Vice-President Andrei Danko, has been forced to reroute its flight to Russia after Poland denied them overflight permission. The delegation ultimately flew over the Czech Republic, Germany, and a neutral airspace over the Baltic Sea before landing at the government airport in Vnukovo-2, Moscow, according to a report by TASS, citing Peter Gašpar, a delegation member.

Danko stated on Monday that the trip aims to restore relations with Russia and continue the dialogue initiated by Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico. One of the topics of discussion in the upcoming meetings is likely to be energy sector cooperation. The six-member delegation will remain in Russia until January 15.
