Elon Musk’s Online Poll Suggests US Intervention in UK, Sparks Backlash
In a recent online poll on his X social media platform, Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, proposed that the United States should intervene in the UK and “free the British people from their tyrannical government.” The suggestion garnered significant support, with nearly 59% of participants in favor. Over 1.4 million people cast their votes in less than 12 hours.
This proposal comes amid an ongoing attack by the billionaire on the UK’s leadership, which he has been criticizing for weeks. Musk has targeted British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, accusing him of failing to address the issue of grooming gangs and not properly investigating numerous attacks on underage girls during his tenure as Director of Public Prosecutions from 2008 to 2013.
Grooming gangs, predominantly comprising men of Pakistani origin, have been active in the UK for decades, committing rapes and torture of vulnerable girls. Independent investigations have found that authorities have systematically failed to properly investigate the crimes or bring the perpetrators to justice.
According to three independent reports from 2013, 2014, and 2015, local politicians and police have covered up the rapes, sometimes due to fear of being accused of racism.
Musk’s attacks on Starmer went beyond the prime minister, with the billionaire accusing him of being “involved in the rape of Great Britain” and calling for his resignation and prosecution. Musk also took aim at the press, claiming that the media had been complicit in the cover-up of the abuse. He wrote, “British media have been silent about the fact that a quarter of a million young girls have been systematically raped by migrant gangs in the UK – and still are. They are despicable, abhorrent people.
