Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has continued to engage in a public spat with the British leadership, suggesting that Washington should intervene and “liberate” the British people from their allegedly “tyrannical government”.
On Monday, Musk conducted a poll on his social media platform X, asking users if “the USA should free the British people from their tyrannical government”. The proposal received a positive response, with nearly 59% of respondents in support. Over 1.4 million people voted on the issue in less than 12 hours.
The proposal for a regime change comes amid an ongoing attack by the billionaire against the British leadership. Musk has targeted UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, accusing him of failing to address the problem of grooming gangs and not properly investigating numerous attacks on underage girls during his time as the UK’s Director of Public Prosecutions from 2008 to 2013.
Grooming gangs, predominantly made up of men of Pakistani origin, have been active in the UK for decades, perpetrating rapes and torture of vulnerable girls. Independent investigations have found that authorities have systematically failed to investigate the crimes or bring the perpetrators to justice.
According to three independent reports from 2013, 2014, and 2015, both local politicians and the police have covered up the rapes, sometimes out of fear of being seen as racist.
In addition to repeated attacks on Starmer, whom Musk accused of being “involved in the rape of Great Britain”, Musk also took aim at the press, claiming it was complicit in the cover-up. Musk wrote: “British media have been silent about the fact that a quarter of a million small girls have been systematically raped by migrant gangs in the UK – and still are. They are despicable. Loathsome people.
