Sheeran Tops German Album Charts

British singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran has reclaimed the top spot on the official German album charts, according to data released Friday by GfK. This marks his sixth number-one album in Germany, demonstrating continued popularity and chart dominance.

While Twenty One Pilots narrowly missed securing their second chart gold after “Clancy” they maintain a strong performance, settling in at number two. A diverse range of new entries joins them in the upper echelon of the charts. These include Lorna Shore, whose “I Feel The Everblack Festering Within Me” debuts at four, acclaimed songwriter Heinz Rudolf Kunze with “Angebot und Nachfrage” at five and a posthumous release of music by the legendary David Bowie – “I Can`t Give Everything Away (2002 – 2016)” – landing at six.

The momentum surrounding the Netflix animated film “K-Pop Demon Hunters” continues unabated. Its soundtrack retains the bronze medal position on the album charts, while the summer hit “Golden” performed by the fictional girl group Huntr/X, secures the number one spot in the single rankings. Rapper Pashanim enters the single charts at number two with “Erstersommerohnedich” marking his highest entry to date.

The official German charts are compiled by GfK Entertainment on behalf of the Federal Association of the German Music Industry and represent approximately 90 percent of all music sales in the country.
