Sesko Joins Manchester United After Leipzig Stint

Following two seasons with RB Leipzig, forward Benjamin Šeško will be joining Premier League giants Manchester United.

The Bundesliga club announced the transfer on Saturday, with sporting director Marcel Schäfer acknowledging Šeško’s development during his time in Germany. “Benji arrived at RB Leipzig as an extremely talented player and has developed into a top-level European striker in the past two years, despite his young age” stated Schäfer.

He further added, “Both sporting and personal qualities will be missed, however, we are proud to have developed another player for the Premier League and one of the biggest clubs in the world. The financial aspects of the deal also naturally played a role”. Reports indicate that Manchester United will pay a fee of up to €90 million for the Slovenian international.

Šeško, 22, joined RB Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg in the summer of 2023 and quickly established himself as a key player, featuring in 87 competitive matches. During his time with the Bundesliga side, he scored 39 goals and provided 8 assists, netting 16 goals and supplying 6 assists in 41 appearances this past season.
