Schweitzer: No Finger-Pointing After Failed Black-Red Government

Rheinland-Pfälzischer Ministerpräsident warnt vor gegenseitiger Schuldzuweisung

Alexander Schweitzer, the Minister-President of Rhineland-Palatinate, has warned against mutual finger-pointing in the wake of the failed start of the black-red federal government. “I expect humility from all coalition partners in front of the responsibility and warn against pointing fingers at each other” said the SPD politician to the newspapers of the Funke Media Group (Wednesday editions). “It would be crazy and irresponsible to play with fire.”

CDU chief Friedrich Merz had failed in the first round of the election as federal chancellor on Tuesday. Following this, the coalition parties had each affirmed that they had voted together for Merz and thus put the dissenters on the other partners.
