German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) is set to travel to London on Sunday at the invitation of British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to attend the Ukraine meeting. This was announced by the government spokesperson, Steffen Hebestreit, in Berlin on Friday.
According to Hebestreit, other European heads of state and government, as well as NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, have also been invited, along with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen and the President of the European Council, Antonio Costa.
The focus of the meeting is expected to be on the further alignment of European partners and allies in supporting Ukraine, potential peace negotiations and European security issues, Hebestreit stated.
