Schleswig-Holstein's Minister President Urges Federal Government to Ease Business Restrictions Before Summer Break

Schleswig-Holstein’s Ministerpräsident Daniel Günther (CDU) urges the new federal government to take initial steps to relieve businesses before the summer holidays. Günther, in an interview with “Welt” stresses the importance of “bureaucratic reduction, the elimination of regulations and documentation requirements and tangible relief measures that must now be implemented.” He acknowledges that it may not be possible to completely alleviate the frustration caused by the coalition government in the population within 100 days. However, he hopes that “it will become apparent that something is changing, that the federal government is addressing the problems of the people and implementing first measures that will brighten the mood in the country.”

Günther assures that the black-green coalition in Kiel will not stand in the way of necessary reforms in the federal council. “Our state cabinet has already shown during the coalition with the Greens that we are not a blocking government. Our Greens understand that we want to maintain this constructive course in the new configuration.”

He also advocates for a careful preparation of a proposed ban on the AfD. “I will do everything possible to ensure that the path to such a process is now taken and we will of course support the federal government in this endeavor.
