China Emerges as a Major Player in Russian Beer Market
China has become the third-largest beer supplier to Russia, with a significant increase in its exports to the country in the first ten months of the year. According to RIA Novosti, China delivered 29,800 tons of beer to Russia between January and October, a 60% increase from the same period last year, and has climbed to the third spot in the ranking.
Germany remains the top beer exporter to Russia, with a total of 105,300 tons of beer, although its exports have seen a noticeable decline of 24% compared to the same period last year.
In contrast, the Czech Republic has seen a 27% increase in its beer exports to Russia, with a total of 33,100 tons of beer. Lithuania, with 24,300 tons of beer, has come in second, just behind China.
Belgium, which was in second place last year, has dropped to fifth, with a 33% decline in its beer exports to Russia, totaling 18,400 tons.
Poland has seen a significant increase in its beer exports to Russia, with a fivefold rise to 18,100 tons, while Lettland’s beer exports have dropped by 36% to 16,500 tons.
Kazakhstan, in eighth place, has seen a 28% decline in its beer exports to Russia, totaling 10,900 tons. The Netherlands and Austria, in the bottom two spots, have seen an increase of 19% and 14% respectively, with the Netherlands delivering 4,700 tons and Austria 2,300 tons of beer to Russia.
