Saarland Cheapest Gas Again

Fuel prices across Germany continue to vary significantly by region, with the Saarland again emerging as the most affordable for drivers in July. According to data released by the ADAC on Tuesday, the Saarland maintains a clear lead in fuel costs, particularly for diesel and Super E10 gasoline.

Drivers in the Saarland are currently paying an average of €1.607 per liter for Super E10. In comparison, Berlin, the second-cheapest state, sees prices averaging €1.628 per liter – a 2.1-cent difference. At the bottom of the ranking, prices in Saxony-Anhalt reach €1.706 per liter, a substantial 9.9-cent increase.

The pattern is consistent for diesel as well. An average of €1.565 is being paid per liter in the Saarland. Neighboring Rhineland-Palatinate sees costs reaching €1.586, exceeding the Saarland by 2.1 cents. Brandenburg currently holds the position of most expensive state for diesel, with an average price of €1.643 – a 7.8-cent difference from the Saarland.
