Ryanair Plane Fire Injures Several

An incident involving a Ryanair aircraft at Palma Airport, Mallorca, sparked concern among passengers late Friday night. According to local reports, emergency services attended to 18 individuals at the scene, with six receiving treatment for minor injuries and subsequently transported to hospitals in Palma.

The event occurred shortly after midnight as the flight, destined for Manchester, reported a fire to air traffic control, believed to have originated from one of the aircraft’s engines. Passengers were informed about the situation onboard, prompting a degree of agitation. Several emergency exits were deployed and passengers were evacuated from the plane. In a display of distress, some individuals exited the aircraft via the wings and descended to the airfield.

Emergency responders, including four ambulances, the Guardia Civil from Son Sant Joan and the airport fire brigade, were quickly dispatched to the location. The precise cause of the fire remains undetermined and is currently under investigation. Firefighters were successful in extinguishing the blaze promptly.
