In an interview with Bild, Papperger stated that the company has made the necessary preparations and is ready to support the increased investment. Over the past two years, Rheinmetall has invested eight billion euros and expanded its production capacities, which it plans to continue. Papperger responded to the announcement by the German government to increase the defense budget to five percent of the country’s gross domestic product in the coming years.
