Putin's Surprising Endorsement of War Escalation?

According to sources, citing unnamed representatives of the Pentagon and the US Presidential administration, the United States has put on hold the provision of military aid to Ukraine. The Russian Presidential Spokesperson, Dmitri Peskow, has commented on the development, stating that the possible suspension of military support from the US could prompt Ukraine to engage in peace talks.

Peskow noted that, while the details of the situation are still unclear, the move could be a significant step towards a peaceful resolution. He also emphasized that the Russian government would be closely monitoring the situation on the ground and that a stop to US military aid would not necessarily lead to an immediate end of the conflict, given the continued support of some European nations.

Russia has consistently condemned the provision of military aid by Western nations to Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed the difficulty his country would face without US support and has expressed hope that the aid would continue. When asked if he would apologize to the US for the conflict, Zelenskyy declined to comment, stating that he would not apologize and did not regret the verbal exchange.
