A recent survey indicates growing public sentiment in Germany favoring a swift change in leadership at Deutsche Bahn (DB), the national railway company. Conducted by the polling institute Insa for “Bild am Sonntag” the survey revealed that 50 percent of respondents believe a leadership change for the DB board should occur as soon as possible. A smaller 10 percent expressed opposition to such a move, while 23 percent stated they were indifferent.
The findings are part of a broader trend demonstrating declining public satisfaction with the railway’s performance. According to the survey, 69 percent of respondents perceive the quality of Deutsche Bahn’s services to have deteriorated over the past five years. Conversely, 16 percent feel the railway has improved.
The survey, which polled 1,002 individuals between July 31st and August 1st, 2025, reflects a growing pressure surrounding the operational effectiveness of Germany’s critical transportation infrastructure. The results highlight a noticeable shift in public perception and underscore the challenges facing Deutsche Bahn.
