Police Swarm Berlin School After False 'Amok' Alert

Police were apparently deployed in large numbers at the former Alt-Schmargendorf elementary school in the Berlin district of Schmargendorf on Friday afternoon. Two alarm systems specifically designed for active shooter scenarios in the school had reportedly been triggered, according to the “Bild” newspaper.

Currently, it seems that children are still hiding in the classrooms. The police are said to be using specially trained reserve police officers and elite police units from the Special Operations Command (SEK), as reported by the newspaper.
