A fatal traffic collision occurred early Saturday morning on the L 213 highway between Zweibrücken-Mörsbach and Homburg-Kirrberg, claiming the lives of a 21-year-old driver and his 21-year-old passenger. This was confirmed by the Homburg Police Inspectorate.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the vehicle veered left off the roadway while navigating a right-hand curve, breaching a guardrail before colliding with a tree. Both occupants sustained injuries incompatible with life.
Authorities have fully closed the accident site to facilitate a thorough investigation and the road is expected to remain blocked to traffic until the afternoon.
The Saarbrücken Public Prosecutor’s Office has commissioned an expert to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the collision. The investigation is currently in its initial stages.
