Poland Reports Russian Drone Intrusion

Poland’s military confirmed on Wednesday that Russian drones appeared to have violated its airspace during an attack on Ukraine.

According to a statement released by the Polish military command, Polish and NATO air defense systems were activated to intercept the drones. Efforts are underway to locate the downed objects and citizens have been advised to remain at home.

In response to the incident, Poland has temporarily closed four airports, including Warsaw Chopin Airport, the country’s largest.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk has informed the NATO Secretary General about the current situation and the measures taken to address the drone intrusion, indicating ongoing communication and coordination regarding the event.
