The Oetker Group has announced an agreement to acquire Kathi, a manufacturer specializing in baking mixes and flour products based in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. Kathi confirmed the signing of the relevant contracts on Monday.
The planned acquisition is intended to bolster Oetker Group’s presence within the baking mix and cake specialty market segment. Kathi, established in 1951, holds a strong and established consumer base, particularly within eastern Germany.
The acquisition will encompass Kathi’s production facility located in Halle (Saale), along with its workforce. Financial details regarding the purchase price have not been disclosed by either party. Kathi will continue to operate as an independent company, managed by its existing leadership team.
