Peter Beyer, a former coordinator of the German government for transatlantic relations, warned against the blurring of moral lines in the debate over future relations with the United States.
Beyer, a member of the Christian Democratic Union, emphasized the need for differentiation and sensitivity in discussing Trump and Putin in the same breath.
