The Lower Saxony State Agency for Water Management, Coastal Protection and Nature Conservation issued a warning on Friday, indicating that the high tide on Sunday is predicted to be two meters above the usual level. Wind speeds of force 8 are also anticipated.
While the high tide will be slightly below average until Saturday midday, a minor storm surge, approximately one meter higher than usual, is expected from Saturday evening.
The situation is expected to improve following the peak on Sunday afternoon. A minor storm surge remains possible during the night into Monday, with only a slightly elevated high tide predicted for midday on Monday, accompanied by decreasing wind speeds. Residents are advised to monitor local forecasts and heed any official guidance.
