According to information obtained by the German newspaper Welt, a discrepancy has been found in the life story of the Munich attacker. During the asylum process, a crucial point in his life story was changed – his place of birth.
Apparently, he did not, as previously reported, come from Kabul, but was born in Kapisa, one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan. The newspaper claims that the city of Munich has confirmed this information. The document, which was taken over by the Munich Foreigners’ Authority, shows that the place of birth was listed as Kapisa, as indicated by the national passport of the individual, N. and not, as previously stated, as Kabul, as noted during the initial entry by the BAMF.
Farhad N. arrived in Munich on December 5, 2016, as an unaccompanied minor refugee. He was granted a residence permit on April 27, 2021, after completing a high school diploma, starting an apprenticeship and submitting an application for a residence permit. The residence permit was valid from October 26, 2021, to October 25, 2023. The application for an extension, dated October 9, 2023, was still under processing. To bridge the gap, N. received a so-called Fiktionsbescheinigung, which was extended twice and remains valid until April 22, 2025.
