In a rare direct address, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke to the Iranian people, following a major Israeli airstrike campaign against the country. Netanyahu emphasized that the goal of the operation was to eliminate the nuclear and ballistic missile threat posed by the Islamic regime, thereby paving the way for the Iranian people to achieve their freedom.
In a speech on Friday, the Prime Minister claimed that in the past 24 hours, Israel had taken out “high-ranking military commanders, leading nuclear scientists, the most important enrichment facility of the Islamic regime and a significant portion of its arsenal of ballistic missiles.” He added that “additional measures” were being prepared.
Netanyahu described the Mullah regime as having never been weaker, presenting an opportunity for the Iranian people to rise up and defend themselves. “It is time for the Iranian people, under their flag and their historical heritage, to unite and fight for their freedom from the bad and oppressive regime” the Prime Minister stated.
Prior to the speech, Israel had launched a massive aerial campaign against Iran, prompting a retaliatory response from the country. Explosions were reported in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, although the extent of direct hits was initially unclear. The Israeli military later announced that it was safe for people to leave their shelters once again.
