Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla and SpaceX, has reportedly been in talks with his allies to potentially oust UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer before the next general election, according to the Financial Times. Sources claim that Musk is considering ways to destabilize the British Labour government, going beyond the sharp statements he has made on his X platform.
Musk has been searching for opportunities to support alternative political movements in the UK to bring about a government change, with Reform UK being a potential ally, the newspaper reported. He is allegedly considering financially supporting the Reform Party, but not under its current leadership. The entrepreneur recently criticized Nigel Farage, the party’s leader, saying he lacked the necessary qualities of a political leader.
In recent months, Musk has sharply criticized the Starmer government. He has called for a national inquiry into the cases of sexual abuse by criminal gangs in British cities in the 1990s, which were initially ignored due to police inaction and a fear of being accused of racism. Musk accused the party of not doing enough to uncover the truth about the abuse scandals and blamed Starmer, a former Director of Public Prosecutions, of being inactive and “guilty of raping Britain” in his previous role.
A poll on X allowed users to vote on whether America should “free the British people from their tyrannical government”. Starmer rejected the accusations, calling the criticism part of a disinformation campaign, without naming Musk.
