Tesla CEO Elon Musk has urged employees to actively engage with customer concerns as the electric vehicle manufacturer faces ongoing sales challenges.
In an email sent to the company-wide “everybody” distribution list on Thursday evening and reported by Handelsblatt (Monday edition), Musk emphasized the importance of understanding and addressing customer issues.
The email included a link to a post on his social media platform X, where he directly requested feedback from Tesla customers. Musk’s post, viewed by over 225 million followers, asked customers to detail any difficulties they encountered during the purchase process.
He stated Tesla’s objective is to streamline the buying and delivery experience, providing precise responses to customer inquiries. Musk further posited that a key measure of success is whether customers would recommend Tesla to a friend.
Tesla has been grappling with declining sales figures for months. Globally, vehicle deliveries fell by 13 percent in the first half of the year, setting the company on track for a second consecutive year of decreased sales.
