Berlin, August 25 (Reuters) – A car plowed into a crowd in Munich on Thursday, leaving several people injured, the police said. The driver was reportedly secured at the scene and authorities do not currently consider him a further threat. The circumstances of the incident, whether it was an accident or an attack, remain unclear. Reports suggest that a Verdi union rally was taking place in the area at the time.
The incident occurred in the city center’s Maxvorstadt district, near the Dachauer and Seidl streets. Police were present in force, but did not provide a count of the injured. The investigation is ongoing and no further information has been released.
