Munich Mayhem: Afghan Asylum Seeker's Deadly Drive of Deception Exposed

Following a car ramming into a crowd in Munich, authorities are now investigating a targeted attack. Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder stated to journalists: “It likely appears to be an attack – many indications point to that – and we still need to clarify everything – by an Afghan citizen. We will clarify all the details.”

Söder said that a response is taken with composure in every attack, but simultaneously “our determination is growing”.

According to police reports, at least 28 people were injured, some of whom are in life-threatening condition. The perpetrator, reportedly a 24-year-old Afghan asylum seeker, is the individual in question.

Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Hermann does not rule out a connection of the act with the Munich Security Conference, which is taking place in the Bavarian capital over the weekend. “The motivation of this Afghan perpetrator must be thoroughly investigated, of course.” The perpetrator is, according to the minister, currently known to the police for shoplifting and drug-related offenses, as reported by journalists in a question-and-answer session.
