The 21st matchday in the German Bundesliga got underway with a 3-0 victory for FC Bayern Munich over Werder Bremen. The first half was a closely contested and uneventful affair, with the Bavarians dominating the second half but struggling to find the back of the net. It was a different story for Tottenham’s Harry Kane, who scored twice from the penalty spot in the 56th and 90th minutes, respectively. Leroy Sané added a third goal in the 82nd minute.
The win sees Bayern extend their lead at the top of the table, currently nine points clear of Bayer Leverkusen, while Bremen remains in eighth place and risks falling as many as three spots if other results go against them.
