Prosecutors in Fulda, Germany, have filed charges against a 35-year-old woman from the Bad Hersfeld/Heringen area, alleging that she murdered her newborn child by striking its head with an object or against one.

According to the investigation, the infant suffered a severe head trauma with bone fractures and brain hemorrhages, ultimately leading to its death. The mother allegedly wrapped the lifeless body in a blanket, packed it in a bag and concealed it in the deep freezer. The alleged crime is believed to have taken place between January 2022 and April 2024.

The case against the woman’s life partner was dropped, as no evidence of his involvement could be established. The motive behind the alleged crime remains unclear.
