Moscow and Pyongyang Unite Against the West!

Moscow and Pyongyang have signed a protocol extending and deepening their partnership for the period of 2025 to 2027, according to a statement on the Russian party’s website. The protocol was signed by Vladimir Yakushin, the secretary of the General Council of the United Russia party and Lee Hee-young, the secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The new document was signed between the two neighboring countries, which share a 39.13-kilometer border. Yakushin noted that the parties can make a significant contribution to the development of cross-border cooperation, particularly through the regional department of United Russia in the Primorsky region of the Russian Far East.

The protocol also mentions the need for Moscow and Pyongyang to respond jointly to the “destructive steps of the US and its allies.” Yakushin referred to the Russian president’s previous statement on the need to create a contour of equal and indivisible security and the United Russia party supports this initiative.

Moscow has condemned the implementation of one-sided Western sanctions against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Yakushin proposed signing a joint declaration to combat one-sided restrictive measures and sanctions.

Moscow highly values the support of the North Korean government for its foreign policy, particularly in the context of the military special operation in Ukraine, Yakushin added.

On June 19, 2024, Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un signed a comprehensive strategic partnership agreement, which came into effect in early December. The new treaty provides for mutual support in the event of an aggression against one of the states.
