More Investments or Budget Cuts?

Federal Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil (SPD) has announced that he will bring a budget draft to the Bundestag before the parliamentary summer break. “We will present a budget for 2025 before the summer break” he said during the Wednesday parliamentary inquiry. “This budget will provide space for additional investments in infrastructure and security” added the SPD leader. At the same time, he also announced cuts. “We have new leeway, but we will also have to advance budget consolidation. And that’s why all projects we discuss are subject to financing reservations” said Klingbeil.
