A large pike, measuring over two meters in length and weighing 90 kilograms, has been responsible for multiple injuries at the Brombachsee, a lake in Germany. According to the police in Mittelfranken, the fish was put down due to its aggressive behavior, having bitten at least five people. The water rescue service informed the police of the incidents, which occurred within a two-hour period.
Rescue teams from the Bavarian Red Cross were able to provide on-site treatment for the bite and flesh wounds of the injured individuals. The pike, located near a swimming island, repeatedly attacked bathers, prompting the closure of the bathing area. The police and water rescue services worked together to prevent further injuries.
Initially, a police officer fired at the fish with his service pistol and it was later retrieved from the water by two anglers in a boat. Following the retrieval, the bathing area was reopened.
