EU and US Urged to Resolve Trade Dispute Promptly
Germany’s Federal Minister of Economics, Katherina Reiche, has called on the European Commission and the US government to swiftly resolve the trade dispute, emphasizing the economic interdependence between the two regions.
In an interview with the German newspaper Bild, Reiche stated, “The US and the EU are economically closely intertwined. We must, therefore, resolve this trade dispute quickly through negotiations – it is in our shared interest.”
Reiche warned of potential economic losses due to the current uncertainty and looming tariffs, highlighting the high level of uncertainty on both sides of the Atlantic. She added that both sides are in close dialogue to explore potential negotiation solutions, with the European Commission being a key partner in this process.
