During a cabinet retreat held Tuesday at Villa Borsig near Berlin, Federal Minister for Transport Patrick Schnieder (CDU) experienced a sudden collapse attributed to a circulatory weakness.
According to those present at the meeting, Schnieder briefly slumped at the conference table but quickly recovered. As a precautionary measure, he was subsequently transported to a hospital for examination.
The minister was notably absent from a group photograph taken in the park during the afternoon. The cabinet meeting, focused on discussions surrounding Germany’s competitiveness and digitalization, is scheduled to continue on Wednesday at the Foreign Office training facility near Lake Tegel.
