Green Party Bundestag Member Ricarda Lang has welcomed the first government statement made by Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz. “I would say that Friedrich Merz has never been as much like Angela Merkel as he was today” Lang told the RTL/ntv news team. “The tone was very different from what we experienced during the election campaign, where he focused mainly on division and grandiose statements. Today’s speech was more balanced, addressing various issues and attempting to bring people together.”
At the same time, Lang also expressed her criticisms. “There is a lack of vision, a lack of ideas and a lack of a common path towards the future. Simply listing different topics from the coalition agreement and a bundle of measures is not enough in this world, at this time, where people are seeking direction.
