Merz Stands Firm on No-Deal with AfD!

In a recent interview, Friedrich Merz, the CDU’s chancellor candidate, reiterated his party’s stance on not cooperating with the AfD, a party with far-right and extremist tendencies. Merz emphasized that there will be no collaboration with the AfD and that all parties can rest assured on this point.

The CDU and its sister party, the CSU, are set to vote on stricter migration policies, including deportations and rejections, in the upcoming session. The SPD and the Greens have already expressed support for the proposals, while the FDP has signaled its approval.

Merz, in an interview with the “Bild”newspaper, emphasized the importance of the center parties taking responsibility to counterbalance the political extremes on the right and left. He stated that the CDU’s proposals for the upcoming session will be sent to the SPD, FDP and Greens in advance and expressed his hope that the parties of the center will take action to improve the security situation in Germany.

In a previous statement, Merz sparked widespread criticism when he said that it would not matter to him who the votes came from, implying a willingness to form a government with the AfD. His latest statement, however, reiterates the CDU’s commitment to not cooperating with the AfD and underscores the importance of the center parties working together to address the pressing issues in Germany.
