Mercedes-Benz has reported a significant drop in profits for the second quarter of 2025. The company announced on Wednesday that its operating result for April to June declined by approximately two-thirds, falling to €1.3 billion. Adjusted for one-off effects, the figure was €2.0 billion, a substantial decrease from €4.0 billion in the same period of the previous year.
The decline in both group revenue and group EBIT has been attributed to the impact of newly imposed tariffs. Furthermore, one-off effects amounting to €715 million negatively impacted the results. Consequently, the company has revised its outlook, now predicting group revenue to be considerably below the levels seen in 2024. This adjustment reflects an anticipated decline in sales volume for both Mercedes-Benz Cars and Mercedes-Benz Vans.
The company anticipates that sales of Mercedes-Benz Cars will be noticeably lower than those recorded in 2024, with sales performance in the second half of the year expected to mirror the levels seen in the first. This suggests a potential for slightly lower sales in the third quarter compared to the fourth.
