German Hotel Industry Sees Slight Decline in March 2025
Germany’s hotel industry experienced a slight decline in March 2025, with a 1.3% decrease in real and nominal terms compared to February 2025, according to preliminary results from the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis).
Hotels and other accommodation providers reported a 1.1% decline in real terms and 1.7% in nominal terms compared to February and a 2.7% real and 1.1% nominal decline compared to March 2024.
The food and beverage sector also saw a decline, with a 1.0% drop in real and nominal terms compared to February and a 4.7% real and 0.9% nominal decline compared to March 2024.
These figures suggest a slight slowdown in the German hotel and hospitality industry, with a decline in both real and nominal terms. The sector’s performance in March 2025 was compared to the same month in the previous year, as well as to the previous month.
