A survey conducted by the opinion research institute Insa for T-Online found that 46 percent of Germans want the next federal government to neither provide the Ukraine with weapons nor financial support. In contrast, 28 percent of respondents want the next government to send both weapons and money to the country, which is under attack by Russia.
Seven percent of the Germans surveyed want to help the Ukraine with only weapons, while eight percent want to provide only financial support. Six percent of the respondents are undecided and three percent do not care about the topic.
The age distribution of the respondents also shows an interesting pattern, as the majority of Germans aged 18 to 29 (57 percent) want the next government to stop providing support. In contrast, only 28 percent of Germans aged 70 and older do not want to send weapons or money to the Ukraine.
The methodology of the survey is as follows: the online survey took place on February 24, 2025 and involved 1,000 people from Germany aged 18 and above, with 834 respondents providing their party preferences.
