53% of Germans want to spend on charitable purposes in the new year.
This even applies to 40% of households with a net income of less than 1,500 euros, as a survey by the market research institute Innofact for the Fintech Raisin (World Savings) found among 1,002 people, reported by the “Spiegel”. The survey asked about the question of what Germans want to spend their money on in 2025.
Second and third places are taken by debt reduction (48%) and the purchase of furniture or household appliances (43%), while the fifth place is occupied by the purchase of securities (40%). Another result: financial planning is more important to men than to women. For them, the purchase of stocks, gold, cryptocurrencies, or a property has a higher value.
However, the accumulation of assets is not a major priority. Similar attractive are vacation trips (40%), home renovations (39%), concert visits (35%), or a dinner at a Michelin-starred restaurant (34%). On the lower rungs are curiosities like first-class flights (12%), a home cinema (11%), and the purchase of a classic car (10%).
Similarly, unappealing are plastic-surgical treatments (13%), except for 18- to 29-year-olds (30%). The least Germans, according to the survey, want to treat themselves to a sabbatical (9%), possibly also because they cannot afford it.
