Majority of Germans Avert Glance at US Amid Trump's Troubles

German tourists reportedly deterred by US President Donald Trump. According to a Forsa survey for the “Stern” magazine, 54 percent of Germans say they should consider avoiding travel to the United States due to increased reports of difficulties entering the country. Forty percent believe that travel to the United States is still safe, while six percent did not respond. There are few differences among party supporters, except for the Alternative for Germany (AfD) voters, who say they would consider traveling to the United States without concern (74 percent), while only 21 percent would avoid it. In contrast, 76 percent of the Left Party voters would avoid the United States. The data was collected by phone on April 23 and 24, with a sample size of 1,000 respondents.
