The Magdeburg attacker has apparently been moved to a correctional facility in Saxony on Monday.
The Ministry of Justice in Saxony-Anhalt announced that a “detainee under investigation”, who had been housed in JVA Burg until now, was brought to JVA Dresden in the morning. While it was not officially confirmed whether the person in question is the 50-year-old Magdeburg attacker, several media outlets reported this consistently, citing security circles.
The man’s transfer, according to the ministry, took place for security reasons by air and was supported by forces of the state police of Saxony-Anhalt and the security authorities of the Free State of Saxony. Further information was not possible, it was said, “due to related security concerns”. It was publicly known that the 50-year-old had been housed in JVA Burg so far.
