German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has announced the appointment of Generalmajor Holger Neumann as the new Inspector of the German Air Force, according to a report by the German magazine Spiegel. The handover of command is scheduled to take place at the Wunstorf airbase, with Neumann’s promotion to Generalleutnant expected to coincide with the event. Currently, Neumann serves as the Commander of Flying Forces at the Air Force Troop Command in Cologne.

Neumann has a long history with the German military, having joined in 1989 and initially serving in the army before transferring to the air force. His appointment marks a new chapter in his career, as he prepares to take on the responsibilities of the Inspector of the German Air Force.
