German midfielder Frans Krätzig’s loan to 1. FC Heidenheim has been terminated prematurely, with the player set to join Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg, the German team announced on Wednesday.
The original loan agreement, which was to run until June 30, was mutually terminated on May 31. Krätzig, 22, had joined Heidenheim from FC Bayern Munich during the winter break and made 18 appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists. The majority of his matches, 16, were in the Bundesliga, with the remaining two in the relegation playoffs.
According to 1. FC Heidenheim’s board of directors, Frans Krätzig strengthened the team with his tempo and game intelligence, consistently delivering strong performances. The early transfer was facilitated to accommodate Salzburg’s participation in the Club World Cup, which takes place on June 15.
