VfL Wolfsburg has announced the loan acquisition of Danish midfielder Jesper Lindström for the upcoming season. The agreement, finalized between Wolfsburg and Lindström’s current club, SSC Napoli, was confirmed by the Bundesliga side on Wednesday evening.
The 25-year-old previously spent last season on loan at FC Everton, where he featured in a total of 30 matches across four competitions. At VfL Wolfsburg, Lindström will wear the number 19 jersey.
“Jesper brings experience from the Bundesliga and on the international stage” stated VfL Sporting Director Sebastian Schindzielorz. “We are gaining a dynamic and very flexible player who can fill nearly every position in midfield.
Lindström’s previous Bundesliga record includes 57 appearances for Eintracht Frankfurt, contributing twelve goals and nine assists. He also scored one goal and provided one assist across five DFB-Pokal matches. Notably, he helped Eintracht Frankfurt secure victory in the Europa League in 2022.
