Lindner’s Election Rally Takes a Sour Turn!

FDP leader Christian Lindner was hit with a Seifentorte (a type of sweet pastry) in the face during a campaign stop in Greifswald, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern on Thursday. A young woman hurled the torte-like object at him during his speech, when he was discussing the citizen’s tax. After the attack, Lindner briefly wiped his face and continued his speech. He also defended himself against further attempts to remove him, saying, “I wear these battle scars with pride.” He added, “Sugar would have been nicer.
