Leftist Surge: Wagenknecht's Exit Boosts Link's Poll Numbers, Reichinnek Claims!

According to Heidi Reichinnek, the top candidate of the Left Party, the party’s partially rising opinion polls can be attributed to the departure of Sahra Wagenknecht from the party. “It has definitely become more relaxed” Reichinnek told the “Rheinische Post” (Friday edition).

The infighting, she said, is behind them and as a result, the Left Party can now focus on being a party for social issues, without constant attacks from within the party. Reichinnek emphasized that the Left Party has clear ideas about how society can be improved for everyone. “Of course, this also includes our clear stance against the right and against populist politics, whether it’s the AfD or CDU and FDP” she said, referencing the party’s stance on the Bundestag election results.

Reichinnek expressed a desire for the party to achieve seven or eight percent of the vote in the Bundestag.
