Left-Wing Uprising: SPD and Greens to Re-Evaluate Union Alliance?

Linken leader Jan van Aken demands SPD and Greens put their cooperation with the Union in the states to the test, if Union initiatives on migration are pushed through in the Bundestag with the help of the AfD.

Van Aken told the “Rheinische Post” (Wednesday edition): “If Friedrich Merz in the Bundestag is willing to make common cause with the right-wing extremists to pressure democratic parties, then I call on Social Democrats and Greens to draw practical consequences from the destruction of the democratic firewall.” Whoever is ready to push through disputed security laws with the votes of the AfD is “willfully opening the door to a different republic”, van Aken criticized further.

This is more than a sin. Even SPD and Greens would be required to do so. “In the states, SPD and Greens should convene the coalition committee wherever they govern with the Union and demand a joint and unambiguous positioning against any cooperation with the AfD”, the Left leader demanded.
