Susanne Schaper, the State Chairwoman of the Left Party in Saxony, opened the party’s federal congress in Chemnitz on Friday. In her speech, she emphasized the need for increased investments. Those who traveled by regional train, she said, had experienced firsthand the importance of investments in the railway infrastructure.
Schaper highlighted that the party’s success in the last federal election was due to a smart strategy and the commitment of its members. The party focused on the fight for social justice, against fascism and for peace, standing together in the election campaign. Thousands of new members stood side by side with long-time supporters on the streets.
The federal leadership of the Left Party, led by Jan van Aken, Ines Schwerdtner and Heidi Reichinnek, also praised the joint efforts of the members and celebrated the strong result in the last federal election.
